To the editor: Democrats must act on voters’ expectations
Congratulations, not only to the Democrats, but to the American people! You have decided that hope and togetherness beats hate and division every time. The Republicans preached nothing but hate and name calling in all their political ads. Not once did they propose a plan to better the American people. Now the Democrats need to deliver on their promise, to make our lives better. We need a government that is for all of the people, all of the time. What we don’t need is a government that is only out to enrich themselves and their cronies! Now is the time to end the tyrannical MAGA cult! Here is a potential reason for which I will give an answer. I live on Mansfield Road near Sherbrooke Road and on my block neighbors for the most part take care of their homes. Welcome Christmas: Bay View Yacht Club headlines The Blade's 39th Holiday Parade
This year’s Blade Holiday Parade will feature a different type of grand marshal with the Bay View Yacht Club receiving the honor. Heather Pacheco, The Blade’s associate director of events, said the Point Place-based boating organization has been an avid supporter of the holiday parade for years and organizers wanted to give them some recognition. “This is, I believe, their 14th year,” Ms. Pacheco said. “They put on a huge presentation with their Whoville float and everyone dresses the part of Dr. Seuss. They raise money throughout the year to hand out Dr. Seuss books to all the attendees and all the kids that come out. It is a really great, interactive way for them to be a part of the community.” Ms. Pacheco acknowledged how rare it is to choose a group to be the grand marshal of the parade, which occurs Saturday. Previous years have seen in the role Broadway couple Libby Servais and Stephan Stubbins, chef and restaurateur Kengo Kato, and the combination of Earl Mack, Jr., and Charles Heiser in 2023 when the event fell on Veterans Day. “We just felt they did such a good job as a community partner,” Ms. Pacheco said of Bay
