Change is coming to the Progress
Change is coming to the Paulding Progress. There’s been a lot of small changes over the past six months, as I’ve tried to add value for our readers. We’ve added Sudoku and word search to the puzzle page, included a picture for kids to color, and added fun facts for kids and adults alike. There’s been experimentation with jokes, comics, recipes, and a visits through Progress history. I silently resolved to never let the paper slip below twelve pages. Of course, the Thanksgiving holiday kept news and events sparse this week, necessitating a need to renege on that silent promise. Rest assured, this is a temporary page count, just as in the fall, we occasionally got up to nearly twenty pages.
It’s Christmastime in Paulding
A small crowd gathered outside Herb Monroe Park in downtown Paulding for the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting, braving freezing temperatures. Kids gasped as Santa and Mrs. Claus emerged from the fire engine to walk towards the park where they sat down next to the outdoor fireplace. The Paulding High marching band entertained with a few numbers, their drum kits lit with festive lights. As the parade moved past, everyone got into the spirit and forgot about the cold.

SUSPECT CAPTURED IN ANTWERP
The Antwerp Police apprehended the suspect who was on the run last night after being pulled over by the Sheriff for allegedly stealing a vehicle from Michigan. Law Enforcement captured the fugitive around 8:00 a.m. near the “S” curve and SR49 just south of the Antwerp Exchange Bank.

Local bikers donate food to charity
During the weekend just before Thanksgiving, on Saturday, November 18th, fifteen motorcycle clubs, including many bikers from Putnam County, gathered at VFW Post 5645 in Findlay for the 6th Annual Outlaws MC of Findlay Biker Community Food Drive to benefit The City Mission of Findlay. This year’s event to contribute to the mission, which shelters the homeless and feeds the hungry, ended up being a huge success with a total of 55,076 pounds of food collected.

Man who sold meth in Fort Jennings accepts plea deal
OTTAWA — A Putnam County man who sold methamphetamine to an undercover law enforcement officer this summer accepted a plea offer from prosecutors on Monday. Gregory Preston, 32, formerly of Cincinnati, was indicted in August by a Putnam County grand jury on two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, both felonies of the first degree. The indictment alleged that Preston on or about Aug. 4 sold meth to the undercover agent in an amount that exceeded 50 times the bulk amount.
