Whit's Frozen Custard prepares to serve customers March 6
After a few delays, Whit's Frozen Custard is finally opening in downtown Marion on March 6. Aurelia Harbolt, the general manager for Whit's, is excited to offer a dessert option to complement the restaurants in the downtown, especially the restaurants neighboring Whit's, including OX-B's . "The fact that we're going to be able to offer that second part of your date night or whatever it may be for dessert, in the middle of all that food, I think it's perfect," Harbolt said. Second, ice cream is made with more air, making custard smoother, richer and creamier, Harbolt said. So far, Harbolt has been given a warm reception from Marion residents. Within four days of opening the call for workers, she saw more than 140 applicants. On Facebook, Harbolt said the response has been overwhelming. "Obviously, being brand new in Marion, people are going to line up at the door, especially those people who usually traveled to Delaware to their store," Harbolt said. The first week that Whit's is open in Marion
