Pike Lib Golf finishes state runner-up
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots golf team finished runner-up in the AHSAA 1A-2A State Golf Tournament in Muscle Shoals this week. Over the two days, Pike Lib shot a team score of 476, finishing in second place just six strokes behind state champion Sand Mountain. On day one, Pike Lib shot a team score of 323. Jackson Cleveland shot a 75 for the Patriots, while Braden Prestwood shot 76, Ford Hussey shot 85, Bryant Swindwall shot 87 and Sawyer Keck shot 97.
Golf state tournament: TA girls win 1A-3A title, how other Tuscaloosa area teams finished
For the second straight year, the Tuscaloosa Academy girls golf team won the AHSAA 1A-3A golf state title. The Knights finished the tournament shooting 21-over, 60 strokes ahead of Mobile Christian in second place (+81). The tournament was played across 27 holes at RTJ at the Shoals in Florence, Alabama. It was originally supposed to be 36 holes, but due to weather, the teams played nine holes on Tuesday, instead of the originally planned 18.

Vintage Base Ball at Manush Field
TUSCUMBIA – Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball will feature the Franklin Farriers vs. the Cumberland Club of Nashville on Sunday, May 19. The game will be played at Heinie Manush Field at Deshler High School in Tuscumbia. Game time is noon. Gates open at 11am. The teams play by the 1863 rules. The most notable difference may be that there are no gloves. No admission is charged, and t-shirts and food concessions will be available.
UNA Golfers Shine at TPC
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL – University of North Alabama sophomore Eric Luo placed second in the Men’s Individual Division, while UNA golfer Jahnavi Prakhya placed third in the Women’s Individual Division at the PGA Works in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida last week. The event was played at TPC Sawgrass, home of THE PLAYERS Championship.
