Local BBQ Restaurant recognizes National BBQ Day
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - " We’ve been open for just a little over a year, since May 11th of last year. The biggest reason was barbecue, we have another operation, Sweet Tea’s over at Clarksburg Country Club. We’ve been out there a number of years and we enjoy it greatly, but we were looking to diversify , and not have all our eggs in just one basket. And this opportunity became available and there’s no other barbecue store in town. So, that was the biggest reason.”

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms persist throughout the day
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Today started off pretty gloomy with those overcast skies and rain showers in the early morning hours and it will continue to rain on our parade (literally) with more rain showers coming up in the next couple hours. In the evening hours we are also going to start to see some non-severe thunderstorms. Our highs today are going to drop down below season average today with temperatures in the low 70s for the lower elevations but, our highs will be getting higher on Thursday as we start a slight warming trend getting into the high 70s in the lowlands. Also on Thursday we are going to start to get another break from the bad weather! Thursday does see some chances for some very scattered showers but the chances will get even lower going into the evening hours and into the morning on Friday. To start off your weekend on Friday however, there are some more chances for thunderstorms in the late afternoon to evening. Daniel Niemasz has all of this and more on your First Alert Forecast.

Unseasonably warm temperatures continue Today and Wednesday before potentially severe storms return
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - These high temperatures have been unseasonably high these past few days, getting up to the high 80s in the lowlands and even the high 70s in the higher elevations. These temperatures are well above seasonal average which is only in the mid 70s for the lowlands and the low 70s in the higher elevations. Wednesday night into the Thursday early morning hours sees a change in our weather however. While Wednesday there is potential for scattered rain showers throughout the day, some more severe weather chances are expected throughout our area towards the late evening hours. The more severe weather includes damaging winds and possible hailstorms as well. While these chances remain isolated it is still something to look out for throughout the night. This cold frontal passage will also drop our high temperatures quite significantly all the way down into the high 70s, which is just about seasonal average. Daniel Niemasz has all of this and more on your First Alert Forecast.
