Crash near Shinnston sends 1 to Morgantown by helicopter

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — One person had to be flown to Morgantown Monday following a motorcycle crash near Shinnston.

According to an official with the Harrison County 911 Center, at about 7:59 p.m., crews were alerted to a vehicle accident with injuries near the 1500 block of Saltwell Road.

When crews arrived, they confirmed that a motorcycle was involved and found one person with injuries that required being flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown by Healthnet Aeromedical Services.

The official did not provide any details regarding the person’s condition or the cause of the crash but did confirm that Saltwell Road is fully open.

Crews from the Shinnston Fire Department, Bridgeport Fire Department, Harrison County EMS and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office all responded to this call.
