QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Ill. (KWQC) -- We are off to a much quieter start today than where we ended last work week. A system will slip by to our south this morning keeping us under cloudy skies today. Highs will reach the mid and upper 30s in most areas this afternoon. The next system will arrive tonight leading to light rain that will change over to snow tomorrow morning. While there are signs of minor accumulations it doesn’t appear to be enough to have an impact on travel. HIghs will be in the 30s and 40s through Wednesday until a warm front lifts into the area bringing 50s back by Thursday and Friday.

Illinois man reportedly found with fake ID when arrested for public intoxication
A Quad City-area man was arrested early Sunday morning after his alleged intoxicated behavior caught the eye of police. Arrest reports indicate that as an Iowa City Police officer was heading north on Gilbert Street just before 1am, he observed 19-year-old James Toland of Silvis Illinois staggering southbound. The officers stopped his vehicle and attempted contact, but Toland allegedly fled. He ran across railroad tracks east of First Street and fell twice before the officer caught up to him.
Henry Co. Authorities Seeking Wanted Fugitive Who Fled Traffic Stop
The Henry County Sheriffs Office is searching for a wanted fugitive who fled a traffic stop. Authorities say a deputy pulled over vehicle being driven by James Lasenby Friday night on Route 78 south of Annawan. Lasenby had a valid nationwide arrest warrant. The deputy attempted to arrest him, but he sped away, causing minor injuries to the Deputy. The vehicle was pursued as the vehicle exhibited reckless disregard to the public. Officers chased the suspect, who collided with another vehicle near the intersection of Tenney and Division Streets in Kewanee. He drove off before law enforcement arrived.
Winner declared for District 6 seat for Pleasant Valley
Scott County election supervisors officially settled the controversy surrounding the election results for one of the Pleasant Valley School Board seats. They declared Jameson Smith the winner of the District 6 seat. A canvass summary a week after election night showed smith won the race over write-in candidate Tracey Rivera by six votes. The Scott County Auditor conducted a recount last week, and records indicated the three delegates assigned the recount determined there was a tie between the two candidates. Residents of the Pleasant Valley school district packed the December 4 Board of Supervisors meeting.

QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Ill. (KWQC) -- Light snow showers or a wintry mix will continue off and on through midday. A few roads may be slick, especially north of highway 30, but with temps getting back to near 40º most snow will melt on contact after sunrise. Warmer temps will arrive for the second half of the week with highs in the 50s on Thursday and Friday. Widespread rain will roll through late Friday night into the day on Saturday and cooler temps will arrive by Sunday with breezy conditions.
