Clare man pleads guilty to Fort Dodge meth conspiracy

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — A Clare man pleaded guilty to federal drug charges after admitting to distributing methamphetamine in the Fort Dodge area over a two-year period. Sean Paxson, 57, was convicted of one count of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and one count of distributing methamphetamine. He remains in jail pending sentencing.

Altoona Woman Arrested for Allegedly Possessing Illegal Drugs in Jefferson

An Altoona woman was recently arrested for allegedly possessing illegal drugs in Jefferson. According to court documents, a Jefferson Police Officer was executing a search warrant on July 1st for an unrelated crime when he noticed several alleged drug-related items inside the home. Court documents show that those items were seized and sent to the Criminalistic Laboratory for further testing, which resulted in a mixture of methamphetamines and buprenorphine.

Webster City Man Cited for Fleeing the Scene of an Accident

–A Webster City man was cited after fleeing the scene of an accident in the St. Benedict area late last week. According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s, 58-year-old Hugo Ajtun Vasquez was traveling west bound on County Road B46 in a 2005 Nissan Titan Crew Cab truck around 7:30 AM on Friday, October 30th. The accident report states that Ajtun Vasquez did not stop at the intersection with County Road P60, and was struck by a southbound 2023 GMC Acadia, driven by 44-year-old Angela Weiland of Wesley.

An organization in Greene County held its annual Give Back Awards where several non-profit organizations received additional funding. Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation gave out seven checks to worthy causes, including some new entities.
