Paulding & Wayne Trace Split Paulding County Track Meet victory
The Paulding County Track meet took place On May 6, hosted by Paulding High School with Antwerp, Paulding, and Wayne Trace participating. In the boys division the Raiders came out on top with a score of 90, Paulding second with 57.5 and Antwerp followed with 26.5 points. Boys discus was topped by Foltz with 151’6” of WT, followed by Stouffer of WT with 144’8” and third was Woods from Paulding at 140’8”.
Track and Field: O-G sweeps D-II district team titles
DEFIANCE – It’s that time of the track-and-field season when coaches preach to their athletes about counting to four. At Friday’s finals of the Division II district meet at Defiance High School, the top four placers in each event qualified for next week’s Division II regional meet at Piqua, which takes place on Thursday and Saturday. Then, the top four placers in each event at the regional meet automatically qualify for the state track meet that takes place on May 30, 31 and June 1 at the University of Dayton.
Softball notebook: Lincolnview, Patrick Henry advance to district title
ELIDA – Through five innings, Lincolnview recorded just two base hits off Columbus Grove pitcher Abby Stechschulte. However, Lincolnview finally got the bats going as it scored eight runs in the sixth, including a 3-run home run by Allie Miller, to pull away for an 11-1 run-rule victory over Columbus Grove in a Division IV district semifinal softball game on Monday at Dorothy Edwards Field.

Elwer’s no-hitter leads St. John’s past Ayersville in sectional finals
AYERSVILLE — Sectional final action heated up as the #5 seed St. John’s Blue Jays (13-12) clashed with the #3 seed Ayersville Pilots (11-12) on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore Cameron Elwer commanded the mound Thursday afternoon, pitching a no-hitter with 7 strikeouts and an impressive 66 strikes on 105 pitches. The Blue Jays capitalized on early scoring opportunities, orchestrating a sequence in the third inning with a walk to Braylon Metzger, a clutch hit from Collin Feathers and a skillfully executed bunt via error by TJ Werts to take a 2-0 lead.
