San Angelo favorite donut shop plans second location
San Angelo’s Awesome Donut is getting a second location at 1530 South Bell Street. The first Awesome Donut shop in town at 4382 Southwest Blvd. has seen considerable success since it opened in 2024, staff said. As a result, it felt like a good time to open a second location to better accommodate customers. Michael Ahunada, one of the managers, said that the shop has a lot of customers on the side of town where the new location will be. The new Awesome Donut space will be near Goodfellow Air Force Base. He said they believe that opening a store there will provide more convenience to customers. Additionally, the hope is that the second location will help bring more business into town and contribute to San Angelo’s economy as a whole. “This location is doing very well, so we wanna branch out and give our customers on the other side of town an opportunity to come get our donuts and experience Awesome Donut,” Ahunada said. The new location will involve renovating a preexisting building and is expected to be completed by April 15, 2027, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. One breakfast burrito on this list holds ham, chorizo, bacon, sausage, potato, egg, beans, rice, and cheese. That’s four meats before lunch. Honestly, I’d drive for that alone. It gets better from there. One spot stuffs tater tots inside. Another pops brisket into a loaded morning wrap. Several...
