FORT MYERS, Fla. — Lee County deputies placed a man in handcuffs after a rollover crash occurred Wednesday night on Fowler Street. The crash happened in front of Page Field in Fort Myers just after 1 a.m. LCSO has identified the driver as Dan Edee, 34, of Fort Myers.

Florida man caught on camera shooting dog in face during argument over infidelity: LCSO
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A Florida man is facing charges and a dog is on the mend after deputies say a lover’s quarrel over cheating allegations led to shots being fired. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a Lehigh Acres home shortly after midnight on Monday because a suspect, later identified as 41-year-old Farhad Deiham, was threatening to shoot everyone inside the home, including two children, during an argument over his alleged infidelity.
Retail center opens in Estero
A 78,000-square-foot retail center opened off Corkscrew Road east of Old Corkscrew Golf Club in Estero. Located at 18405 Parksville Drive, Shoppes at Verdna Village, which was developed by Winter Garden-based WMG Development, is anchored by Publix and includes additional community amenities, including Publix Liquor, Heartland Dental, Dunkin’, The Nail Spa Estero, New York Pizza & Pasta and The UPS Store. Roughly 200 jobs were created with the opening of this Publix-anchored shopping center, WMG officials said. The land was originally owned by Cameratta Cos., who pioneered the east Lee County housing expansion in recent years. The family-run company looked to WMG to deliver first-class retail to complement its Verdana Village residential community.
