FCPS names Gregory Biggs as 2024 Substitute of the Year
Gregory Biggs, who has been a substitute teacher for Frederick County Public Schools since 2018, is the district’s 2024 Substitute of the Year. Biggs was nominated by Hillcrest Elementary School. According to an FCPS news release, Biggs accepts daily and long-term substitute positions — positions requiring 11 days or more — and volunteers to help students during his free time.
Middletown Middle School wins 2024 FCPS Superintendent's Cup
Middletown Middle School is the 2024 Frederick County Public Schools Superintendent’s Cup winner — the first middle school to win the award since it was created in 2017. The Superintendent’s Cup recognizes a student government team each year that made the most significant impact to a charitable initiative selected by the Frederick County Association of Student Councils (FCASC) Executive Board.
