Guardians score late to beat Rangers
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - What started as a pitchers duel turned into a blow out in Arlington. The Guardians plated four runs in the 8th inning and three more in the 9th to coast past the World Champion Rangers 7-0. The game was scoreless until Brayan Rocchio broke the ice with an RBI single in the 8th scoring Estevan Florial. Moments later Jose Ramirez delivered a two run single with the bases loaded and it was 3-0 Cleveland. Andres Gimenez would come home to score on a wild pitch later in the inning to make it 4-0.

ADA – The Ada softball team earned a measure of revenge by blanking visiting St. Henry 10-0 in the Div. IV sectional finals Friday evening. Junior catcher Natilyn McClain slugged a grand slam homer that hit the top of the fence and bounced over to break up a scoreless tie in the third inning, putting the Bulldogs on the path to victory.

Ottawa Legion steps up with donation
Recently American Legion Post 63 made a $4,000.00 donation toward the purchase of Dugout Fences at Memorial Field in Ottawa. “The dugout fence enhances the space inside both dugouts. The players can put their equipment in the dugout and literally walk out of the dugout to lean on the fence and watch the game. The fence also provides safety for the players, coaches, and trainers,” says OG High School Head Coach Nick Watkins.

MIDDLE POINT – The Ada softball team played a showdown game at Lincolnview in a light mist for the Northwest Conference crown Tuesday evening. Both teams entered the fray undefeated in league play, with the Lancer girls 7-0 and Ada 6-0. The Lady Bulldogs were seeking their first-ever conference softball title in their last year as a member of the NWC.
