OTTAWA, OH (WLIO) - The Putnam and Henry County Right to Life groups came together to give their perspective on Issue 1. The Truth and Light Town Hall in Ottawa Wednesday evening had a wide array of guest speakers and informational materials available about the upcoming constitutional amendment that deals with abortion and other reproductive decisions in the state of Ohio. The goal of the meeting was to explain why they are opposed to the ballot issue and help others spread the word about why they believe Ohio should vote no, and their concerns about the topic on a national scale.

Proposed tax abatement on Ottawa council agenda
OTTAWA-Village Council has begun the process of entering into a tax abatement agreement regarding the current downtown renovation project and are seeking a new member. During the Sept. 11 council meeting, Mayor Dean Meyer offered condolences to the family of Thomas Rosenbauer who served on council for two terms. Activate challenge launched for schools
LIMA — Activate Allen County is partnering with several organizations including Mercy Health — St. Rita’s Medical Center, Mental Health Recovery Services and Mental Health, Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Board. The organizations have started the 2023-2024 program for local school districts. According to a recent press release, the organizations will award 10 area school districts with up to $2,500 to help aid in their efforts for healthier environments. The award winners will reportedly be announced in January.
