Davenport man sentenced on firearm charge
A Davenport man was sentenced April 23, 2024, to seven years in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon. According to public court documents, Marveon Dashawn Jovan Williams, 27, was arrested in 2022, after Davenport Police responded to a call in May for a gunshot victim in a vehicle. Upon arrival on the scene, the victim was located in the driver seat of a vehicle, with a gunshot wound to the head.

ROCK ISLAND COUNTY, Ill. — On Saturday, April 27, law enforcement agencies across the country will participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Community members are able to drop off any prescription or over-the-counter pills and patches for collection. Vape pens and other e-cigarettes can also be collected after batteries are removed. Liquids, needles, sharps and inhalers cannot be accepted, however.
