LSU continues to pursue top targets in the 2025 recruiting class and wide receiver is a position with some star power committed to Cortez Hankton already. We continue our look at the 2025 recruiting boards for the Tigers.

We will break each group down into four categories. The first will be the ‘focus group’. This group is considered the group that is realistically in play to land and are near the top of the board in their position group.

The second group is the ‘we’d love to have you’ group. This group consists of players with offers that could be trending elsewhere or a bit more of a stretch. This group could be an elite talent that has an offer who could be a prospect LSU makes a heavy charge for late.

An example of this would be five-star defensive line signee Dominick McKinley or four-star defensive line signee Gabriel Reliford in 2024.

The third group is a “keep on watching” group. This could be a prospect that it’s tough to gather information on, which makes him intriguing, or someone that it’s a little unclear where LSU stands.

Each group will also have a ‘dream’ commitment. This will likely be the best prospect possible or the most-pressed-for in the class.

Today, the focus is the wide receiver position.

Focus group…

5-star WR Dakorien Moore : The LSU commitment is fresh off getting back to Baton Rouge and will take visits to Ohio State, Oregon and Texas. For the Tigers, Moore’s been a key pledge for the future of the wide receiver room. He’s a must-keep for Cortez Hankton.

4-star WR TaRon Francis : An explosive prospect out of New Orleans, Francis jumped on board with LSU early. All indications are he’ll sign with the Tigers as a key pickup in the 2025 class.

5-star WR Kaliq Lockett : Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Ohio State, LSU and Florida State are all vying for Lockett, who will visit Baton Rouge for the spring game. He’s high on the development the Tigers have shown at the receiver position. He might end up being tough to pull out of Texas, but Hankton and the staff have made him a big priority. That visit in April is looming large for LSU’s chances.

4-star WR Jaime Ffrench : Ohio State leads the On3 RPM for Ffrench, a former Alabama commitment, but LSU made a big push when he swung through for a visit earlier this month. Florida State, Texas, Miami and Tennessee are all contenders for the 6-1, 185-pound wideout. LSU thrust itself back into the mix and Bryce Underwood is a key here as well.

We’d love to have you…

5-star WR Caleb Cunningham : A key target for the staff, there’s still a sense that he’ll be tough to reel in. Florida State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, Auburn and Tennessee are viewed as the top contenders. The in-state programs are making it real difficult for him to leave, but LSU’s hosted him a ton over the course of his recruitment, which means it’s hard to count out the Tigers, at this stage.

4-star WR CJ Wiley : An LSU legacy, Wiley is viewed as a lean to in-state Georgia. He’s a Top 100 prospect for On3 and his size is something the Tigers would love to reel in. He’s got a Top 10 of LSU, Georgia, Florida State, Ole Miss, Southern Cal, Alabama, Colorado, Auburn, Michigan and Texas A&M.

Keep on watching…

4-star WR Cortez Mills : Mills is rescheduling a visit to LSU, which needs to happen if the Tigers are going to make a move. He already has official visits planned to Clemson (May 31-June 2), Florida (June 7-9), Nebraska (June 14-16) and Miami (June 21-23). Auburn is also in the mix as well. It seems like LSU would need to make a major move to get firmly into the mix for the Top 150 prospect.

4-star WR Andrew Marsh : It seems like LSU’s interest here has cooled off a bit as Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, USC and others surge. We’ll keep a close eye on this one as Hankton’s recruited him a while, but it seems like LSU has other priorities, too.

4-star WR Derek Meadows : Meadows will visit Baton Rouge next week for an unofficial visit, but most feel like Notre Dame’s positioned itself well early on. He’s got official visits set to South Bend as well as South Carolina.

LSU’s dream commitment…

5-star WR Caleb Cunningham: With Cunningham’s size, he’d be the perfect commitment to complement Moore and Francis in the class. Plus, being able to pull him out of Mississippi would send a major message to the South. Cunningham’s got plenty of suitors, but his size makes him even more coveted when it comes to what LSU still needs to add to this receiver haul.
