Former 4-Star Auburn Linebacker Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Auburn linebacker Wesley Steiner announced his entry into the NCAA transfer portal. The news was first reported by Cole Pinkston of Auburn Live . He will have one season of eligibility remaining.

Steiner played for Auburn for four seasons, playing in 47 career games. During his tenure, he recorded 86 total tackles and two tackles for loss. He had a career-high 46 total tackles during the 2022 season.

Steiner signed with Auburn as a four-star prospect out of Warner Robins, Georgia. He was the No. 108 overall prospect and No. 2 athlete in the class of 2020, according to the On3 industry rankings .

Steiner's announcement comes after he failed to earn a starting spot with the Tigers last season. The Tigers return multiple starting linebackers, including All-SEC linebacker Eugene Asante.
