Majestic flag again hangs from Folsom bridge
A majestic flag again hangs from Folsom’s Historic Truss Bridge, a proud patriotic display that has become tradition in the city the week before Memorial Day. The flag is installed by the city’s Public Works Department, with help from volunteer Clark Verkler of Dokken Engineering. Verkler is an avid climber, according to Folsom city spokesman Chris Shepard, and each year he volunteers his time and effort to climb the bridge to install the flag. The flag will remain on the bridge through Veteran’s Day.
