Good news for Folsom drivers - city officials announced that the Folsom Boulevard Pipeline Construction project is officially finished. The critical infrastructure project involved a one-mile section of Folsom Boulevard from Blue Ravine Road to Bidwell Street. During the construction, slow downs were experienced in that section of roadway as lanes were reduced and drivers were merged into one lane.

Folsom man eyes 60-mile unicycle ride to benefit diabetes research

Lee is not hard to miss as he can usually be found on one wheel rather than two. Now at 60 years of age, the Folsom resident has launched a fundraiser where he plans to ride the same distance as his age on his unicycle, all in an effort to raise funds and awareness in the fight against Type 1 diabetes.

California Energy Commission funding supports SMUD’s decarbonization goals. Sacramento, Calif. – SMUD’s long-duration battery storage project in partnership with ESS Tech, Inc. has been awarded a $10 million grant from the California Energy Commission to demonstrate a groundbreaking 3.6-megawatt, 8-hour iron flow battery project and set the foundation for future large-scale battery deployments and manufacturing at energy centers in Sacramento.

Over 1,000 illegal marijuana plants seized in Siskiyou during traffic stop
SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. — A Sacramento man was arrested with over 1,000 illegal marijuana plants in Siskiyou County last Friday. The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) says around 3:30 a.m. on July 19, a deputy noticed a white Mercedes Transit van swerving over the fog line along Interstate 5 north of Weed. The deputy tried to pull over the van, but the driver continued along I-5 for three miles before eventually coming to a stop, officers say.
