A butcher shop with its own library and a big family-style table for reading? That tells me quite a bit before anyone even mentions a steak. It says the people behind the counter want you to learn something. They teach whole-animal butchering classes, so the curiosity runs deep. It also...

The Small-Town Creamery Behind Culver's Butter

If you've ever been to a Culver's, chances are you've sampled its simple (but brilliant) ButterBurger, so-called because the top of the bun is smeared with a dollop of rich, creamy butter. This gives an otherwise normal burger a little extra oomph. The chain got its start in Sauk City, Wisconsin, in the heart of America's dairyland, and being from the state with the most dairy farms, a local creamery was the obvious choice for the brand to source its butter from.

This Wisconsin Bakery Has Sugar-Free Treats That Don’t Skimp On Flavor

Keto Boston Cream Cake. Keto Key Lime Bars. Keto Chocolate Chip Cookie Swirl Cheesecake. That lineup sounds like a cheat day, yet every item skips the sugar. The cheesecake bars alone get my attention. Creamy vanilla cheesecake sits on an almond flour crust with whipped cream on top. They’re low-carb, sugar-free, and gluten-free, which feels almost unfair.
