Murder suspect sentenced to jail for suspected drugged driving as homicide case progresses
JACKSON, MI – Klaira Diann Mishaw will serve 93 days in jail for contempt of court while she awaits trial accused of aiding in a homicide. Jackson County District Judge Robert Gaecke sentenced Mishaw to serve the 93 days in jail shortly after she pleaded no contest Wednesday, May 1, to driving while impaired and obstructing police while she was on $100,000 bond for open murder.

Drunken man arrested for firing 10 shots through window during domestic dispute
JACKSON COUNTY, MI – A highly intoxicated man was arrested Saturday after opening fire inside his home during a domestic dispute. The victim reported getting in the dispute before he pulled out a firearm and fired 10 shots through the back window of the home, causing the victim to flee and call 911, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

HILLSDALE COUNTY — It was a top-three shuffle for many of the changes that appear in the second edition of Hillsdale Area Best girls track and field rankings. While the 100, 200 and 400 maintained the same No. 1 ranked athlete, the top two runners in the 800 swapped places. Pittsford senior Brooke Smith takes over the 800-meter top spot from Hillsdale Academy junior Caroline Roberts. Smith also holds onto No. 1 in the 1,600 and third place in the 3,200.
