Pedestrian badly hurt in hit-and-run on east side of city
Police are asking for the public’s help finding a motorist who fled the U.S. 64 interchange for East Raleigh Boulevard in the eastern part of the city after striking a pedestrian late Saturday night. Officers at 11:05 p.m. responded to the scene of the hit-and-run. The pedestrian was taken to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville with life-threatening injuries, police said. An investigation is continuing. Police said that anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to call the police department at (252) 972-1411 or Crime Stoppers at (252) 977-1111. Major crash on U.S. 70 sends one to ECU Health
A four-vehicle accident slowed traffic this afternoon on a major Lenoir County roadway and sent one patient to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville via EastCare. Just before 2:30 this afternoon, fire and EMS units were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Jim Sutton Road and U.S. 70 West in the Little Baltimore section of La Grange. Firefighters arrived to find four vehicles involved with major damage.
