GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – There will soon be more than 900 jobs open in Greenville. Last Friday, Gov. Roy Cooper announced the company, Boviet, is opening a solar manufacturing plant in Greenville.

There’s a lot of hard work that happens on the front end to bring companies like this to the area.

Greenville ENC Alliance’s president and CEO said one of the first things Boviet was looking for was the utility piece. They needed a certain amount of space ready to go with room to expand. The company also looked at things like operating costs and workforce.

“Projects like these are the ones we target because they move the needle,” said Josh Lewis, the president and CEO of Greenville ENC Alliance. “We think that it provides opportunities for folks across the spectrum, from high school diplomas to engineering degrees. I think all those jobs will be needed within the facility and we’re happy to provide opportunities.”
