(Underwood) -- Treynor girls soccer avenged a regular-season loss to rival Underwood in a big way Thursday night, advancing to the program's second state tournament. The Cardinals (17-2) found the back of the net early and then held on for dear life against 1A No. 6 Underwood (15-3) for a 1-0 win in a Class 1A regional final.
Harlan alum Sears named Big Ten Pitcher of the Year

Missouri Valley alum Tennis earns Daktronics-NAIA Men's Golf Scholar Athlete
(KMAland) -- Former Missouri Valley standout Nick Tennis was named a Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Golf Scholar Athlete on Tuesday. The Viterbo graduate student is among 14 total golf athletes in the North Star Athletic Association to earn the honor, which states a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended the institution for one full year.

(KMAland) -- Two more former KMAlanders have been named Daktronics-NAIA Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Scholar-Athletes. Bellevue athlete Kaleb Wooten (Plattsmouth) and Olivia Russo (Tri-Center) were both honored after posting a minimum grade point average of 3.5, appearing on the eligibility certification for the sport of track and attending at least one full year at their institution.
Pottawattamie County Supervisors Extend Disaster Proclamation
(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors extended the Disaster Proclamation another 30-days. The proclamation was approved following a series of severe storm systems that affected Pottawattamie County on April 26th. It was set to expire on May 26th. The 30-day extension was approved at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. The proclamation activates the disaster response and recovery aspects of the Pottawattamie County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and it authorizes the use and deployment of all available county resources, supplies, equipment and materials as are reasonably necessary to assist citizens located in the disaster area.
