WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Kansas veterinarian is trying to cut down the local pet population.

Bruce Veterinary Services hosted a spay and neuter clinic on Monday in Wichita.

Doctor Kylie Bruce, a veterinarian and the owner of Bruce Veterinary Services, says getting your pet fixed not only helps prevent unwanted litters but also helps with the pet’s health.

“Life-threatening things like Pyometras, things that occur with age like testicular, ovarian, uterine cancers, spay and neutering your pets has been shown to increase their lifespan up to a couple of years and obviously reduce overall medical incidences throughout their life,” said Dr. Bruce.

Bruce Veterinary Services is hosting an urgent care clinic for low-income pet owners from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Aley Park, 1803 S. Seneca St. Click here for more details.
