Season in transition, restaurants in transition
As the season transitions from winter to spring, several restaurants in Wichita are in transition, too. One is longtime downtown favorite Cafe Bel Ami. The quaint French-Mediterranean restaurant has operated at 229 E. William since 1998, but now, the building’s air conditioning unit must be replaced, and the project will take 14 months. Owner Nabil Bacha wants to reopen Cafe Bel Ami elsewhere, but he doesn’t have a property yet. He’ll have to close the restaurant once it gets too warm outside and says he’ll continue his hunt for the right spot.

Genesis Health Clubs adds an apartment complex to Goddard project
This summer, Goddard will have another residential development started in its backyard. Genesis Health Clubs, a Wichita-based health and fitness company owned by Rodney Steven II, is expanding its footprint around its youth sports complex located between 199th West and 183rd West, south of U.S. 400, with an apartment complex near the Hampton Inn hotel at 455 N. Crowne Dr., along with its 6S Sand Sports Bar and Grill already in the works.

Taylor Swift laser show coming to Exploration Place
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - This week, Exploration Place announced they will be hosting an immersive Taylor Swift laser show at The Dome. The shows will run from April 12 - May 13 and tickets go on sale March 29 at 8 a.m. for the general public. Pre-sale tickets will be available for Exploration Place members from March 26 - 28.

Towanda fire hosts crawfish boil
Next Saturday you can visit the rural town of Towanda and get a belly full of boiled crawfish all while supporting Towanda Fire Rescue. This will be the department’s second annual crawfish boil returning after a great turnout in 2023. Over 300 people attended the last event which brought in over $3,000 for the department.
