Man's body found Monday near former landfill; Petersburg Police investigating
PETERSBURG − Police have launched a death investigation after a man's body was found Monday morning near the former Tri-City Regional Landfill. The body was found in the 300 block of Industrial Drive just off Puddledock Road in Petersburg's East End. He was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Richmond for autopsy and to confirm the cause of death.

The 2024 Spring Faire at Bacon’s Castle portraying life in the early 1500s is set for May 4, and promises to be better than ever according to Site Coordinator Carol Weidel. “Once again, the popular Tidewater Dogs of War will be demonstrating Armored Combat and talking about the history of the sport, weapons, performing duels, and interacting with the crowd including answering questions,” Weidel began.
