Police seek surveillance video in search for missing man
Police continue search for East Greenbush missing me. East Greenbush Police are seeking surveillance video that could help in their search for a missing man. Joseph Viola was last seen at his residence on Rhode Island Avenue on April 25 around 10:40 p.m. Police are asking any residents on that street and the surrounding streets to look for any camera footage they may have of Viola walking in the area around that time.

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — UPDATE: Albany Police report Jaiyden has been found. Albany police are attempting to locate 10-year-old Jaiyden Abear. Jaiyden was last seen on Friday, May 10, 2024 around 2:40 p.m. in the area of Academy Road and Helderberg Avenue. He is described as 4'11" tall, weighing 90 pounds, with brown eyes and hair. He was last seen wearing a green camo shirt and green army pants.

The illegal motorbikes are usually unregistered, uninsured, and oftentimes operated by drivers that don't hold a proper license to operate a motorcycle.

Troy man found guilty of murder in 2022 shooting
Tyshaun Purvis, 31, has been convicted of three out of the four crimes he was accused of, including second-degree Murder, in relation to a 2022 homicide in Albany. Dominique Eley, 27, was found on the 200 block of North Pearl Street near Livingston Avenue after being shot several times.
Ballston Spa fire leaves five without a home
Ballston Spa, NY (WRGB) — Five people, four adults and a 15-year-old, are without a home after an overnight fire in Ballston Spa. According to the Ballston Spa Fire Department, around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning, firefighters responded with Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, Ballston Spa Police Department and Community Emergency Corps to a reported structure fire at 2 Kaleen Dr. in the Village of Ballston Spa. Upon arrival, a well-involved structure fire, but all residents were reported out of the building and the homeowner advised, but there still 3 cats inside the residence.
An Albany woman gets one year in jail for shoplifting
A Clifton Park woman was sentenced Friday to one year in jail for stealing $1,800 from a Clifton Park store. Cristina M. Cassidy, 21, took the items from Kohl’s in October 2022. She was arrested in January 2023. Cassidy pleaded guilty in January 2024.
Northern NY man convicted of manslaughter in deadly hit-and-run
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) - Jurors have convicted a Northern New York man of manslaughter in a deadly hit-and-run in Plattsburgh. It happened in September. Police say Thomas Lance, 38, of Albany County, ran over his boss, Wayne Haupt, 53, in the parking lot of the Exit 36 Truck Stop while driving Haupt’s pickup truck.
DOJ: Chicago man traveled to Colonie to meet minor
A Chicago man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Thursday for attempting to coerce a 12-year-old into sexual activity, and also possessing child sexual abuse images. Eric Ross, 36, will also serve a 25-year term of post-prison supervised release.
