    Troy man found guilty of murder in 2022 shooting

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) – Tyshaun Purvis, 32, has been convicted of three out of the four crimes he was accused of, including second-degree Murder. The convictions are in relation to a 2022 homicide in Albany. Dominique Eley, 27, was found on the 200 block of North Pearl Street near Livingston Avenue after being shot several times.

    The jury found him guilty of Murder in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree. He was found not guilty of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, which is an intent to sell charge. He is set to be sentenced on July 24.

    When officers were originally called to the scene they found Eley on North Pearl Street. She had been shot in the chest several times. The shooting happened in broad daylight.

    Dominique’s friends have previously told NEWS10 that she was an active community member and an up-and-coming artist. She was well-known by the name Dom, Kay, or Kay Hollywood.
