D.C. Superior Court officials said a teen boy is expected to go before a judge Monday after police tied him to Friday’s shooting near Dunbar High School that wounded a student inside the school.

Metropolitan Police said the 17-year-old from Northeast was taken into custody on weapons assault and gun charges in connection to the shooting where a stray bullet grazed a 17-year-old girl in the head.

“She is totally fine and expected to make a full recovery," Assistant Chief Leslie Parsons said during a Friday news conference.

Court documents suggest the juvenile suspect and another alleged gunman, 18-year-old Azhari D. Graves, of Northeast, are accused of targeting a car driving through the 100 block of N Street Northwest and opening fire shortly before 10 a.m.

The sounds of gunfire were captured by home surveillance cameras on the block and shared with local CBS affiliate WUSA.

One of the errant bullets went through a Dunbar High window and injured the girl inside a classroom, according to court documents.

According to the filing, the victim told police she was looking at her phone when she suddenly felt pain to her head. She said she didn’t hear any gunshots or see any commotion outside of school before she was wounded.

Court documents said the two suspects were arrested by police in Southwest shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.
