Man shot and killed by police in Rochester's Park Avenue neighborhood identified
Rochester, N.Y. — Police have identified the man shot and killed by officers and deputies Monday in the Park Avenue neighborhood as Brendon Burns, 35, of Rochester. Rochester Police Chief David Smith and Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter both said Burns has been known to law enforcement for quite some time, while a woman who said she lived next door to Burns described him as "severely troubled."
Rochester postal carrier accused of mail theft
ROCHESTER – A local postal carrier is facing federal charges after a grand jury in Pittsburgh indicted him last week for allegedly stealing mail. According to the indictment, 38-year-old Adam Gallagher is facing one count of violating federal postal laws while employed by the U.S. Postal Service. The agency report said the incident occurred on Oct. 29, but details were not released about what type of mail Gallagher is accused of stealing.

Rochester jazz festival unveils full musical lineup for 2023
A Rochester favorite will close out the 2023 CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival with a free headlining show in the heart of downtown. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will take the Wegmans Stage at Parcel 5 at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 1, for the finale of the event, which this year marks its 20th year.
Neighborhood of Play across from Strong Museum is getting state funding
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — More state funding is coming to the Rochester area, this time to help fund development in the Neighborhood of Play. Pathstone Development Corporation was awarded $1 million to fund its Parcel 7 mixed-use development. House fire on Northview Terrace leaves two homes damaged
Rochester, N.Y — Firefighters in Rochester responded to a call for a fire at a two-and-a-half story, single family home on Northview Terrace last night that left significant damage throughout the home. The call came in just after 9:15 and upon arrival, crews reported heavy fire coming from multiple floors in the home.
