Young Rochester man shot and killed in apartment building hallway
ROCHESTER, NY – A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead early Friday morning following a shooting at an apartment building on 150 Van Aucker Street inside the James Dobson apartment building. Rochester Police Department received a call around 12:30 a.m., and upon arrival, found the young man in the hallway of the ninth floor. He had suffered at least one gunshot wound. This incident marks Rochester’s 17th homicide of 2023. The Police Department continues to process the scene and encourages anyone with information to call RPD’s Major Crimes Unit or CrimeStoppers.
