WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — UTSA chipped away at the Baylor lead after a five run second inning to hand the Bears a 9-7 loss at Baylor Ballpark.

The Bears fell down 2-0 early in the top of the first until the Bears broke the game open with RBI-singles from Cortland Castle, Ty Johnson and Wesley Jordan to take a 5-2 lead.

The Roadrunners slowly clawed back into it, scratching across a run in the next three innings and using a three-run inning in the seventh to take the lead right back and seal the game.

Grant Golomb gets credited with the loss after giving up the three-earned runs in the seventh.

Baylor will look to bounce back against Cincinnati on Friday, March 29th at 6:30 p.m.
