Man arrested on suspicion of shooting, killing wife in Kingman
A man is being extradited from California on suspicion of fatally shooting his wife Tuesday evening in Kingman. Shortly before 6 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting near the 1600 block of Thompson Avenue in Kingman. Upon arrival, they found 43-year-old Amber Lee Soster with multiple gunshot wounds.
Arizona murder suspect stopped after shootout with deputies
WONDER VALLEY — Sheriff’s deputies exchanged gunfire with a murder suspect from Arizona during a chase in Wonder Valley Tuesday, May 28. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said 43-year-old Brent Phillip Soster, from Twentynine Palms, fired at a helicopter and threw a smoke grenade from his truck window as they chased him from south of Needles into Wonder Valley.
Wildfire continues to burn in rugged Peacock Mountains northeast of Kingman
Crews are working to contain a wildfire burning about 20 miles northeast of Kingman in a remote area of the Peacock Mountains. The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management says the Peacock Fire was last mapped at about 255 acres. In a Monday update, the agency says retardant lines are holding, but a lot of heat remains along the edge of the fire.

Wildfire breaks out in Peacock Mountains northeast of Kingman Monday
KINGMAN — A fire has broken out in a remote, difficult-to-access area of the Peacock Mountains about 20 miles northeast of Kingman on Monday – not far from Peacock Peak. Tiffany Davila with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management said the fire was estimated at 150 to 200 acres at about 5 p.m. on Monday. At that time, the fire was reportedly moving upslope to the northeast through grass, brush and pinion juniper with increased fire activity.
