Popular Cranford Principal Retiring
CRANFORD, NJ – Michael Klimko, the principal of Brookside Place School, is retiring effective July 1, 2024. He was principal for the past 16 years, following 17 years of service as a teacher. In 2019, Klimko memorably issued a challenge to the elementary school: collect 4,000 Box Tops for education, and the classes with the most tops collected could duct tape him to the gym wall. They collected 4,145, so he gamely allowed each class to take turns taping him up there.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER “We are very appreciative of Mr. Klimko’s passion and commitment in service to our school community and wish him much deserved happiness as he starts this new and exciting chapter in his life,” wrote the Cranford Board of Education in a release. Klimko is being succeeded by Kristen D’Anna, who is currently the principal of Bloomingdale Avenue School. For more local news, visit TAPinto.net
