Bellevue pushes for casino license as new entertainment district takes shape
BELLEVUE, Neb. (WOWT) - Bellevue tops the list for the expansion of casino and horse racing licenses in Nebraska, according to a new market analysis. The Innovation Group studied eight scenarios of putting a casino and race track in these Nebraska cities: Bellevue, Norfolk, York, North Platte, Gering, Kimball and Ogallala. Nebraska City police chief announces retirement
(Nebraska City) -- One of Nebraska City's familiar faces is stepping down next month. Nebraska City Police Dave Lacy's retirement was announced at Monday night's city council meeting. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Line" program Tuesday morning, Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette says Lacy has been hinting at retiring in recent weeks.
Bennington man sentenced to probation for threats, ordered to forfeit guns
CASS COUNTY, Neb. (WOWT) - A Bennington man must surrender his guns to authorities in Cass County after threatening to kill a Plattsmouth man last August. Chad Miller — a 51-year-old who was originally with attempted murder, but pleaded “no contest” to lesser charges — appeared in court for his sentencing hearing Monday.
