Brian Clinton Davis, son of Phillip Clinton Davis and Darlene Bean, was found dead in his home on April 19, 2024. He leaves behind two sons, Hayden Israel Davis and Trent Davis; his mother, Darlene Bean; and siblings, Israel Davis and Lynette Locklear. He is preceded in death by his father Phillip C. Davis.

Troxler encourages horse owners to act now to vaccinate against mosquito-borne diseases and rabies
Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler is encouraging equine owners to have their animals vaccinated against Eastern Equine Encephalomyelitis and West Nile Virus. “Mosquito-breeding season in North Carolina lasts from spring until the first frost and horses are at risk if not properly vaccinated,” Troxler said. “EEE is fatal 90 percent of the time in horses and WNV has a fatality rate of 30 percent. However, both diseases are preventable by vaccination.”

Charles Benjamin Hearne passed away on April 26, 2024. He was born on July 16, 1996 in Moore County, the son of Daniel Lee and Shannon Reynolds Hearne. Ben was a lineman for Lee Electrical Construction and a volunteer firefighter for Derby Volunteer Fire Department. Ben loved any outdoor activity, such as fishing, hunting, riding four wheelers and loved being with family.
