Tenaha ISD is ecstatic to announce that Jerrod Campbell has been board approved and named the lone finalist in the search for the next district superintendent. Campbell joins Tiger Nation with nearly 25 years of educational experience, not to mention his experience growing up as the son of an educator as well. He has worked as a coach, classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, bus driver and much more.

He feels experience in each facet of the school system ensures he never forgets what it feels like to be in those positions and the sacrifice those vital employees make to keep each district running at a high level.

Campbell started out at East Texas Baptist University playing basketball finishing both his M. Ed and superintendent certification at Stephen F. Austin State University. He has spent the last four years serving as the high school principal at Timpson High School.

He attributes his success to his loving family, wife Linsey and four children, daughters Jaycee and Alleigh, and his sons, Jackson and Terry Bussey.

Campbell is a “people” person. He loves having the opportunity to “love on” people. He is excited to meet Tiger Nation, creating relationships and connecting with staff, students and the community on both a professional and personal level. He feels listening is very important, and looks forward to listening to the people and families that make up this great community and school district.

Campbell said, “It’s hard, sometimes, to look forward to a “job;” no one really loves a job all the time. However, it’s the “people” who make you look forward to each day and what you do.”

Campbell will undergo a 30-day waiting period, as is customary for all new superintendent hires, and begin work on June 3, 2024.

Tigerland extends congratulations to Jerrod Campbell. Mr. Campbell will undergo a 30 day waiting period, as is customary for all new superintendent hires, and then begin work on June 3, 2024.
