It looks like Florida State’s baseball stadium, Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium, was afflicted by the tornadoes affecting South Florida on Friday morning.

Major damage seems to have been done due to the strong winds in Tallahassee. Many have taken to social media to share photos of the unfortunate development, which has befallen the Seminoles.

Check out these photos below of the damage, shared to X (formerly known as Twitter) by Florida State’s Barstool Sports affiliate, @FSU_Barstool.

As you can tell, looks like the right field fence and foul pole received the brunt of the damage from the tornadoes, relative to the rest of the stadium.

John Honore, a meteorologist for the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Florida State alum, shared some clearer pictures of the damage , which you can see below.

Moreover, the National Weather Service in Tallahassee provided a statement earlier this morning on the situation, relaying to everyone in the area to seek shelter due to multiple radar-confirmed tornadoes appearing on their radar.

Christian Oliver, a meteorologist with the National Weather service in Tallahassee, has come out and said a line of severe storms intensified as it neared the city, spawning a reported tornado in the downtown area, per Jeff Burlew and William L. Hatfield of the Tallahassee Democrat .

“As that line was approaching the city, we had three distinct circulations, each with their own tornado debris signature,” Oliver said, via the Tallahassee Democrat . “It looked like they were all kind of coming together into one tornadic capable storm.”

Continuing, Oliver added that the Weather Service has received multiple eyewitness reports of a tornado downtown. A firefighter even called in to report a twister in near Gaines Street, per Burlew and Hatfield .

“We’ll have to go out once it’s safe to do so to see what really happened and what moved through the city,” Oliver said. “But we’ve had people call in saying that they actually saw at least one tornado.”

Here’s to hoping everyone around the Tallahassee area is staying safe at the moment, as tornadoes are always a scary development. At least the baseball field and stadium can be rebuilt moving forward.
