Walmart opening 3 new stores in these 3 states in November

Walmart's expansion continues this November, as the massive big-box retailer opens three locations in three U.S. states. Walmart told USA TODAY on Oct. 30 that the new stores will be in Oklahoma, North Carolina and Tennessee. A Calabash, North Carolina location will open Nov. 4, according to the Wilmington Star-News, part of the USA TODAY Network. The opening will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, product sampling, giveaways and guest appearances from “Wheel of Fortune” co-host Vanna White and country music star Niko Moon. Walmart has more than 10,900 stores and multiple e-commerce websites in 19 countries, the company said. Walmart announced plans in 2024 to open or convert 150 new locations. In April, the retailer said it planned to have 20 new store grand openings in 2026 and early 2027. The company also said it would remodel more than 650 Walmart Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets. USA TODAY contacted Walmart on Nov. 3 for details on how many locations have opened so far this year, and how many openings are planned for 2027. The company declined to answer.
