Delaware County D.A. Provides Update to February 2023 Drug Charges Case
A Binghamton woman has been re-sentenced after admitting to a probation violation stemming from a welfare check of a vehicle in Hancock in February 2023. During the check of the vehicle, the driver, Eva Witteman of Binghamton, was found to be in possession of 12 grams of meth. Initially Witteman was sentenced to five years of felony probation supervision on April 8th after she pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree. According to the D.A., three days after receiving the probation supervision sentence, Witteman tested positive for drugs.
Maryland, NY Man Pleads Guilty to DWI in Delaware County
The Delaware County District Attorney says a Maryland, New York man has been sentenced in a drunk driving case in the fall of 2022. According to the D.A., in September 2022, an erratic driver was reported on State Route 23. The caller had been following the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes and reported the vehicle had been crossing both the yellow and white lines. The vehicle eventually crashed into a ditch and the driver was determined to be impaired at the time of the crash.

A Delhi man is charged after the Delaware County Sheriff's Office says he hit another person and threatened them. According to the office, members of the county Criminal Investigation Division responded to the report of a domestic dispute on April 12th after the caller reported that Michael R. Kirby had hit them.
