MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — Once again, the heart of Mount Vernon was washed in color for the annual Chalk the Walk event this weekend. The large community piece this year was designed by Alina Dalinina from Ukraine. She chose to highlight a famous self-portrait done by the iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
