    Man in jail following standoff with Springfield police

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man is in Greene County Jail this morning after a standoff with Springfield police late Tuesday night.

    According to the Springfield Police Department (SPD), detectives tracked a suspect to a residence near the intersection of Division Street and Golden Avenue on May 7, where the suspect barricaded himself inside.

    SPD said the man is wanted for a prior incident involving a law enforcement officer, but did not provide additional details about the incident or the suspect.

    A special response team was called in to help get the suspect out of the house. The suspect was arrested around 11 p.m.
