SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Open mic nights return for the fourth season at The Medium, 214 S. Main St. Springdale. Participants will have an opportunity to meet with successful rapper and professional producer Murs and learn how to strengthen their work.

Groundwaves, a hip-hop open mic and mentorship program, helps artists grow from their personal development, business and more, according to a news release.

Murs, a West Coast rapper and producer, offers one-on-one mentorship with performers.

“The local hip-hop scene is ecstatic to have Murs and his program back,” said past performer and artist Victor Charlie in the release.

Performers can sign up for the open mic nights at 5:00 p.m., and the public showcase starts at 6:00 p.m. The one-on-one mentorship sessions with Murs are available throughout the day on the Wednesday following each open mic.

Groundwaves originally launched in Colorado in 2019 and debuted in Arkansas as Groundwaves (AR) one year later. Since then, more than 100 artists have participated in the Springdale-based program, with each season featuring new talent and audiences.
