SPRINGFIELD, IL - Whether you like them or hate them, roundabouts are becoming more prominent. The city of Springfield has three roundabouts, or traffic circles, one more on the way and two other intersections being studied. The city even put out an informational sheet on how to drive in roundabouts. It can be found on the Public Works page. Archer Elevator Road and Iles Avenue on the west side of the city is the most heavily traveled corridor that has a roundabout. The circular intersection at 12th Street and Capitol Avenue was the litmus test for the city, opening in 2011 as part of the Capitol Avenue beautification project . Parked Knight Rider Replica in Illinois Gets Hit With Brooklyn Speeding Ticket

Gas Prices Continue to Slip Lower

(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded continues to trend lower. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $4.06 a gallon, six cents lower. Here in Illinois, the statewide average has fallen fourteen cents from Monday to $4.56 a gallon. In Indiana, the statewide average is down eleven cents from Monday to $3.69 a gallon. North Carolina has the lowest prices in the nation, with a statewide average of $3.30 a gallon, six cents lower than Monday. California has the highest prices in the nation, with a statewide average of $5.78, down seven cents from the beginning of the week.
