SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Local students celebrated their hard work through “A Night at the Academy.”

The event highlighted more than 30 pathways offered to students through the Sioux City Career Academy. There were student demonstrations, a fashion show, and an awards ceremony. One fashion design pathway student, Chloie Roupe, even got to showcase a special clothing collection that featured 30 looks.

School officials said that it’s important to take something you love to do and let it grow.

“That is the entire point of the career academy,” Sioux City Career Academy principal Eric Kilburn said. “That if a student has a dream, they try to bring it to life. We try to bring it to life with them, it is their job, it’s their project, it’s the authenticity, it’s their drive and they learn by doing.”

This is the fourth year the career academy has held this event.
