SHELBY TWP. (WWJ) — Charges have been filed against a man who was allegedly caught in a stolen car in the drive-thru lane of a Metro Detroit fast food restaurant.

Jamarius Jackson has been arraigned on one count of receiving and concealing stolen property, $20,000 or more, the Shelby Township Police Department announced Tuesday on Facebook .

It all began on Thursday, May 2 when the department got a FLOCK notification in the area of Hall and Schoenherr Roads about a 2024 Nissan Altima with Ohio plates had been reported stolen out of Detroit.

Officers spotted the car in the drive-thru lane of a fast food restaurant in Shelby Twp. Authorities did not give the name of the restaurant.

Once Jackson completed his order and started to leave the parking lot, officers stopped him and placed him under arrest without incident.

A passenger in the car at the restaurant was detained and later released.

Officers searched the vehicle and found multiple IDs and other documentation with different names and pictures consistent with ID fraud, according to the department.

The stolen car was recovered the next day.

“Mr. Jackson has a long history of criminal activity. I want criminals to think twice before coming to Shelby Township. It’s hard work by our officers that are making this a safe community. Great job by our officers and FLOCK,” Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide said, per the press release.

Johnson’s bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety or 10%. Authorities did not release any information about his next court date.
