The Arroyo Grande City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on May 28 in the council chambers. The city council wants to increase the city’s sales tax rate by a full percentage point in the November election. Under item 12-a on the agenda, the council will discuss placing a resolution to increase the sales tax on the Nov. 5 ballot.
Oceano Dunes advocates challenge Coastal Commission ruling
– Nonprofit organization Friends of Oceano Dunes filed a brief last week in response to the California Coastal Commission’s appeal of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court’s July 19 ruling. The ruling stated that the commission exceeded its authority in attempting to ban off-highway vehicle (OHV) use at Oceano Dunes.

Fictional scenario for the drill was for a response to a commercial passenger jet crash. – Templeton residents, workers, and Adventist Health Twin Cities’ team members might have noticed a preponderance of tents and emergency personnel at Twin Cities on May 8.
