SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Landis Street Market in the Castle neighborhood was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday, according to the San Diego Police Department.

At the time, the store clerk was sitting at the cash register when the suspect told him to open it and then took some cash. Police said the suspect used the handgun to threaten the clerk and fired one shot into the ground. He also hit the clerk in the shoulder with the gun, which caused a bruise, according to police.

SDPD said the loss is unknown at this time and no one is in custody. They described the suspect as a male between 30 to 40 years old with brown hair and a thin build.

He was wearing a white and gray hat, a tan long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and white shoes when he entered the store, according to SDPD.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or SDPD.
