Keldon Johnson seen as most likely San Antonio Spur to be on the move

The San Antonio Spurs are a franchise in transition, with the team’s front office working to find the best prospective players to put around star Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama moving forward. So there will be a lot of faces currently on the roster who will find themselves in a new uniform come October, if not sooner. But which San Antonio player is most likely to be on the move?

If you ask Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz, it is Keldon Johnson. Per Swartz, Johnson “no longer looks like a core piece for San Antonio moving forward,” despite the fact that he is “the team’s second-highest paid player behind Devin Vassell in 2024-25.”

Noting the Spurs’ need for a floor general, the B/R analyst suggests using Johnson in a potential trade to such an end, “especially if it leads to a reunion with Dejounte Murray.”

“San Antonio shouldn’t be afraid to speed up the rebuild and try to win now around Victor Wembaynama, even if it means moving Johnson for more veteran help,” suggests Swartz.

And given he is a young and productive member of San Antonio’s roster, we expect Johnson to have real value in any potential deal he might be included in, making the B/R analyst’s assessment ring true in our appraisal.
